Paninis at Paulie's

I just had the greatest paninis I have had in a long time.
Since I was going there for lunch, I thought getting the lunch special where you get half a panini and a cup of soup will be enough. Oh was I wrong, the panini was so good I had to order a full second one! I had the "Pizzitola" (Fresh Mozzarella, Roma Tomatoes & Pesto) first and then had a full Petronella (Smoked Turkey, Swiss Cheese & Bacon).
The bread is pleasantly crusty and the cheese is melted to a point in which you can still feel its consistency but it almost dissolves in your mouth. The ingredients are key here, one can feel they are the real deal.
Unfortunately, I could not try any of their cookies and pastries, they looked so great that I will make a special mid-afternoon trip to try them.

Intro

I love to eat. When I go to bed at night, instead of saying my prayers, I picture in my mind the juicy ham and cheese omelet that I might be having for breakfast. My mornings are fueled by the thought of what I will be having for lunch, and so goes my life, counting on food to get me through it.
Let me first say that I am not a food expert or critic, I am just a guy who enjoys sitting down at a table and having a good meal that transcends the ordinary, a guy who loves finding a great place out of the beaten path and sharing it with others.
When I first moved to Houston, I was amazed by the variety and quality of such great eateries spread all over town; this blog will document my personal excursions into the fascinating culinary world of this marvelous city.
